If your prior authorization is denied and your insurance will not cover the prescribed medication, you may pay for it out of pocket at the pharmacy. Several options are available. Please inform your Care Team how you would like to proceed.
Option 1: Submit an Appeal
Please keep in mind that appeals can take up to 30 days. If you’re prescribed a weight management medication, your appeal may require either a type 2 diabetes diagnosis or coverage for weight loss medication, depending on the medication.
Option 2: Booking a follow-up with your provider to be prescribed an alternate medication
